Ray Montgomery, Owner & CEO

Montgomery joined Beacon in January 2013 taking on the the task of the tactical daily direction of the operations team and strategic vision of the organization. He provides leadership to direct reports and team leads and makes strategic decisions that influence the customer experience and the financial performance of the organization.


Montgomery has over 20 years in executive management, beginning with being a co-partner with one of the first software companies in Nashville. As an entrepreneur he has founded four companies, three are still ongoing. The fourth, Montgomery Motorsports, competed in both the NASCAR Busch & Craftsman Truck Series and ARCA. (Proud to have partnered with both Alice Cooper, with whom we won the 2005 ARCA race in Daytona) and Bobby Hamilton.

Ray has a Masters of Business Administration from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University and a BA – Business Administration with concentration in Accounting from the University of Tennessee at Martin

Bryan Merville, Owner & President

A business development professional with experience gained at several successful Nashville-based organizations, Merville joined Beacon in 2009 taking leadership responsibility for sales and marketing across all Beacon product offerings.
Merville joined Beacon based on a strong recommendation from Joe Maxwell, Chairman of the Beacon Board of Directors and his former employer at Investment Scorecard, where he began his career in business development. After Scorecard, Merville was a Director of Business Development at Mobular Technologies out of Huntsville, Alabama and National Sales Manager at Valutec Card Solutions in Franklin, Tennessee, the perfect background to build significant share for Beacon in the mid-south market and expand nationally.
Merville holds both an undergraduate and graduate degree from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

John Cooper, Vice President

Cooper has worked at Beacon since 2006 and has become the go-to point of contact for project management, design and planning services for owners, architects and contractors locally and nationally.
After a 10-year career with FedEx, Cooper switched gears joining Beacon as a lead project manager over the company’s diverse product portfolio. Cooper works directly with architects, electrical contractors and facility owners to ensure that solutions are fully integrated and are complete, on time and within budget. In addition to his expertise in all key product areas, Cooper is the Beacon expert in regard to nurse call solutions.
Cooper holds BICSI RCDD credentials, as well as certification for Data Center, Outside Plant and CCTV Design.
